Snakes

Dear Peregrin,

I had another question regarding dreams I keep having. Why do I dream about snakes (I hate snakes). I am confused at to whether this has anything to do with my relationship with Randy, if you remember my previous dream I asked you about. Or if this is something with me?

Thanks

Janis

Good morning, Janis.

Most typically, the snake would represent for you something which inspires the same emotions that real snakes do - fear, revulsion, hatred.

But the snake can have a variety of meanings. Sometimes it indicates betrayal, just as the biblical snake betrayed Eve. Sometimes it represents healing, as the snakes on the caduceus (the symbol of the medical profession). Sometimes the snake takes on a phallic symbolism, indicating sexual desire.

A great deal depends upon your emotional state during the dream, and upon the surrounding images - in what context do the snakes appear, and how do they make you feel?

If you would like to give me one specific dream, I will try to be a little less vague.

Pleasant dreams,

Peregrin
