Rolling Backwards

Dear Peregrin,

I dreamed that I ran out of a party with a steak knife in my hand and jumped into the back seat of my car. I was alone in the car. The car began to roll backwards down the hill, picking up speed. When the road ended the car continued to careen backwards down a steep ravine with shrubs and trees and boulders pressing in on the sides of the car until there was very little space left inside. It suddenly came to a stop, and I jumped out thinking I was lucky to get out before I was completely crushed.

You may not feel as if you are in control of your social relationship(s). You ran from a large social situation (the party) into the seclusion of a solitary relationship (your car). The knife could represent some slightly hostile feelings that you are bringing into this relationship. You are in the back seat of your car -- why not the drivers' seat? As a result, the relationship is backsliding, and the best thing to do (or so your subconscious believes) would be to get out of it.
