I make no secret of the fact that I don't like dream dictionaries, as a rule. This is because dream symbols are all highly subjective - the meaning of a particular symbol can vary from person to person.
I have written an essay on my methods, which can be found here.
I will say that, if you must use a dream dictionary, then A Dictionary Of Dream Symbols: With An Introduction To Dream Psychology -- by Eric Ackroyd is probably the best that I've personally seen.

But even this one is prone to errors. Ultimately, the best authority on what your dreams mean, is you.
