Losing my Mind

Hello again,

I had a dream a couple days ago where I went to the bar my friends I always go to and Scott and I had an argument a couple of days before so I really wasn't talking to him. So when me and my best friend Laura got there Scott pulled her in the back to talk and when they came out she told me that I needed to go talk to him. So I go and talk to him and he starts to tell me that he was sorry about the argument and that he doesn't like when we don't talk, I asked him what did it matter we have gone days with out talking before what made this time any different? He told me that he finally realized that you are a wonderful friend and I would like to see what kind of relationship we would have if we started dating? I told him that I did not want to get hurt again, and what if Amanda wanted you back you gone back to her every other time what would make this time any different? He told me that he wanted to be with someone who loves him as much as he loves her, and he can see that love in my eyes. After I told him I would give it a try, he went into the d.j. booth and told everyone that he finally came to his senses and is with the person that he has wanted to be with for a while but was afraid. Everyone was happy for us especially my friend Laura how came up to me and told me that I told you it would all work out. And then the first song Scott and I slow danced to (end of the road) played and we were dancing and started kissing and it was the end of the dream.

Please help me with this, I know you probably think I have lost my mind.

Thanks again,

Jada

Good morning, Jada.

No, I do not think you've lost your mind. Let's get that out of the way immediately.

Mostly, this is what we call a wish-fulfillment dream. You want something to happen very badly, and of course your subconscious wants you to be happy, so it happens in a dream.

However, there's a little more to this dream if we pay attention to the details. To some extent, your mind is playing "what-if" here. What-if Scott asked you to take him back? Well, obviously, you'd be happy about that, but you should also be a little wary - if he has indeed gone back to Amanda every time she beckoned, then he may do that again, and your dream is saying you need to ask the tough questions before you run back to him.

The dream also seems to be saying that it has to be him seeking you out - in other words, he has to "come to his senses." Pursuing him endlessly won't work unless he realizes, as he did in the dream, that you are a good friend. So maybe it's time to back off - if you're not doing it already, even try the silent treatment for a while.

Whatever happens, your subconscious, speaking through Laura, seems confident that everything will work out well, one way or another.

Pleasant dreams,

Peregrin
